I had a talk with Patricia Shaw. She pointed out that it could be helpful to have some images of complexity on the website and the invitation for the academy 24hrs. Just so that people by instinct could get a sense of complexity. The essential for the images would be to draw references to a situation or a story – but with no words. A picture that could invite people to link to what complexity might involve and invite them to connected with their own practice and their own everyday work where they have felt being in the same situation.
This is the picture I came up with. It is drawn specific as a visualisation of complexity, and in a deeper sense with references to learning and development. I am curious what you get out of it?

I think it is a good image of the unpredictablity of managing projects. You know your starting point - and high-level goals - but you can only guess the road to getting there until you actually get involved in the details.
When running projects based on fixed-price projects this is always a challenges. And of course whey the tool "Change request procedure" was invented in the project managers tool box. But this has to coexist with the customer expectations and joint understanding of goals and end-users expectations. Working in the IT-business this never cease to be a challenge and one of the most important lessions I've brought with me from Stacey's teories. Ensuring a joint understanding.
